A native of the greater Charlotte, North Carolina area and from a racing family with its roots in NASCAR’s beginnings, including father Jim Vandiver, a 1960s and 70s era NASCAR driver, aunt Lillian (Vandiver) Hoopaugh, the first female to race in any division at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and other family members involved in racing related endeavors across a variety of racing series and divisions, Shannon has always enjoyed providing counsel and advice to those in the motorsports industry.  Shannon's motorsports experience includes having represented racing teams, owners, male and female drivers, executives, employees, team members, sponsors, vendors and support personnel in major NASCAR touring divisions such as the NASCAR Cup Series, the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, as well as in the ARCA Racing Series, The National Hot Rod Association, IndyCar and other local and regional racing series. Shannon aides and assists racing clients with contract drafting, analysis and negotiations, employment disputes, sponsor relations, business disputes and breakups, commercial leasing, rules and other compliance issues and lawsuits.  Shannon regularly attends The Racing Attorneys Conference (“TRAC”) and has been involved with the North Carolina Bar Association’s Sports and Entertainment Law Section for many years, including serving as its Chair.
